Teenpatti Hands Ranked — and Every Popular Variation
Every argument at a teenpatti table ends the same way: someone recites the hand order. Here it is, top to bottom, with rough odds from a 52-card deck — followed by the variations (joker, muflis, AK47) that quietly rewrite that order.
The six hands, strongest first

Trail — three cards of the same rank — is the hand people mean when they say "trio" or, in Telugu and some regional usage, simply the top hand. Aces high: A-A-A beats K-K-K. Colour is teenpatti's name for a flush: three cards of one suit that are not in sequence. If you came here asking how to get a flush — you need all three cards in the same suit, and at roughly 1-in-20 hands it is common enough to build a betting style around, but never strong enough to auto-play against heavy raises.
Variations that change the maths
- Joker: one or more cards are declared wild. Trails and pure sequences become far more common, so a plain colour or pair loses much of its usual value — tighten up.
- Muflis (Lowball): the ranking flips — the weakest hand wins. A-2-4 unsuited becomes a monster; a trail becomes the worst hand at the table.
- AK47: every Ace, King, 4 and 7 is a joker. Wild cards everywhere; expect trails, and fold ordinary pairs sooner.
- Blind play: not a rule change but a stake change — blind players bet without seeing cards at half the seen-player stake, which shifts pot maths and rewards pressure.
